In Chinese philosophy, Yin and Yang are terms used to qualify the components of a duality, which are generally opposed and complementary.
Yin, represented in black, evokes, among other things, the feminine, the moon, darkness, freshness, receptivity. Yang (in white) designates the masculine, the sun, luminosity, warmth, impetus, action.
